You take over the car at the start of the shift at the company base. You use this car to take passengers to their destination. They order and pay for their ride online via the Uber app. You transport 10-20 passengers during a shift. The Uber app conveniently navigates you to the pick-up and drop-off locations of your passengers. However, you should still memorize the important main roads and constantly improve your local knowledge. In large cities, you will drive a lot of young people. You will also be driving business people and tourists who often speak English. That’s why we expect our drivers to be able to speak basic English as well as German. The better you understand your passengers, the happier they are. And satisfied passengers tip more.

ennoo works with a shift system. There are early, late and night shifts from Monday to Sunday. The shifts are 6 to 10 hours long. We offer most shifts from Thursday to Monday because this is when passenger demand is highest. New shifts are published weekly in the online shift schedule. You will be informed and can apply online for suitable shifts.

For your shift, ennoo will provide you with a car. ennoo uses new cars with hybrid, electric and hydrogen drives from Toyota and Jaguar for the driving service. At ennoo, every car has a fuel card. You use this fuel card to pay the fuel bill for the ennoo car without cash. At the end of your shift, you clean the car and return it to ennoo.

You will receive a written employment contract. ennoo will employ you as an ennoo driver or service driver subject to social security contributions and register you as a wage earner. Your probationary period is 6 months.

ennoo pays an hourly wage, which is made up of the basic wage, shift allowances and night surcharge. ennoo pays even if you are not currently driving a passenger, but are available for a new driving assignment. The hourly wage is up to EUR 14.50, depending on the location. Many satisfied passengers also tip you. This is even tax-free.

Your employment contract depends on the number of hours you want to work each month. ennoo offers various contract models:

• Full-time – you work 40 hours a week. You can work more hours (max. 200 hours per month) if there are enough free shifts.
• Part-time – you work between 50 and 150 hours per month. You can spread the monthly working hours over individual weeks yourself. If there are enough free shifts, you can work more.
• Working student – only for enrolled students. You work up to 20 hours a week during the semester lecture period and up to 40 hours a week during the semester break.
• Mini Job – up to EUR 520 per month or up to EUR 6,240 per year. You have no fixed weekly working hours. Experience shows that 40 to 45 hours per month is sufficient.

Each driver acquires a vacation entitlement for the days worked. For example, a driver with a full-time contract receives four weeks’ vacation per calendar year. All ennoo drivers are insured against accidents with the employers’ liability insurance association. In addition, ennoo has a public liability insurance policy that covers damage caused by ennoo drivers to third parties. You can also work for ennoo as a part-time job alongside your self-employment. However, not on account, but with a suitable employment contract for driving as a side job.

If you are ill, ennoo will continue to pay you your full salary for up to 6 weeks. After that, you will receive a daily sickness allowance from your health insurance company.

You have an employment contract with ennoo, so you are not employed by Uber. Uber is an online platform and has neither its own cars nor its own drivers. Uber brokers driving jobs to cooperation partners. ennoo is Uber’s general contractor.

You must be at least 21 years old for the job, as the driving license office will only issue you with a P-license from this age limit. Passengers also expect you to look well-groomed. ennoo drivers wear clean and comfortable everyday clothes.

Citizens of all EU countries are allowed to work at ennoo, even if they do not live in Germany. Citizens of all other countries must have a residence permit and a valid work permit if they want to work at ennoo.

You must use your own smartphone with internet access for your work. You will need internet access for various apps that you will need to work with in your driver job.
